Wyvern House featured on More4 by Daniel Rich

We are very excited that one of our projects has featured on the new More4 programme ‘Huge Homes with Hugh Dennis’.

Wyvern House was explored in Episode 3 on 15 September.

In the programme, Hugh Dennis visits some of the largest properties throughout the UK, explores the history of how they were built and meets the present owners to find out what it’s like to live in one of these extraordinary properties.

Wyvern House was completed at the end of 2020 and is a strikingly bold family home. The house was built on the disused tennis courts of the owners’ former home and is in complete contrast to the Grade II Listed Arts and Crafts property they left.

Wyvern House is featured in Concrete Magazine by Daniel Rich

Wyvern House has been featured in the July issue of Concrete magazine.

The Concrete Society encourages the exchange of knowledge and innovation across all disciplines and promotes excellence in design, construction, appearance and performance.

Wyvern House’s design had several site constraints which limited its size and shape as well as construction methods. The exceptional quality of this completed home was made possible by using a concrete frame with a central circular zinc core. Concrete detailing has become a main design feature throughout the building, specifically to the three storey staircase where the visible concrete is honed and then polished and sealed to give a beautiful low-sheen finish.

The Stables has been profiled in the July 2022 issue of i-Build by Daniel Rich

Our project, The Stables, has been profiled in the July issue of i-Build with four pages of editorial coverage.

The magazine provides a fresh and modern approach to self-build product specification and design inspiration. It covers sustainable living, innovation in design and the legalities. Project case studies cover self-build, renovation, extension and conversion.

The Stables was a full house renovation project we did for Clear Architects which included contemporary alterations to upgrade a tired and ill-thought out barn conversion, located in Epping within the Green Belt.

Mason Construction wins Federation of Master Builders' House Builder Award for Driftwood by Daniel Rich

We are delighted to have won the Federation of Master Builders’ House Builder Award 2021 for our work on Driftwood in Loughton.

This luxury new-build home is made using a steel frame and features its own cinema room, a green meadow roof and an external heated seating area for all-season dining.

The ground floor offers a central viewing area which grants uninterrupted views from the front entrance right through to the rear garden, where a beautiful sculpture completes the stunning aesthetic.

Our client was seeking to make this their retirement home - the master suite is therefore fitted with its own bathroom and walk-in dressing room on the ground floor and is accessible via a secretly detailed door in the cladding.

Whole-house automation also makes this new-build a triumph in modern convenience technology.

Driftwood features in Times article about indoor-outdoor living by Daniel Rich

Driftwood, a new build we completed in July 2020, has featured in an article in The Times about indoor-outdoor living - also known as Friluftsliv.

The article discusses the rising trend in outdoor spaces that can be used year-round.

Frilufstliv is the Norwegian outdoor equivalent of the well-known Danish hygge (defined as ‘a quality of cosiness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being’).

Driftwood’s modernist fire pit referenced in the article incorporates many features to add to this sense of modernity and cosiness.
